Our Roots

After having worked in the nursery and landscape industry for over 5 years, Matt stepped out on his own to create Restoration Landscape Company.

Matt studied horticulture at the University of Georgia and then went on to work for an ornamental tree nursery in Middle Georgia. During that time, he learned about plant care and crew management. His next career stop brought him to a large sod company as the North Georgia salesman. There he honed his customer service skills and learned how to meet his clients’ needs in a fast-paced and demanding environment. This experience, coupled with 10 years of service in the United States Coast Guard and a degree in Business Finance, gives our Athens lawn care company an owner who is bent on meeting each customer’s needs in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.

Matt has guided Restoration Landscape Company from doing primarily landscape installations to a full service lawn care company. This new, tighter focus ensures that he is able to give the proper attention to his customers. If you try to find Matt on his days off, you will likely find him outside, reading, or spending time with his wife Emma and their three children (Wilder, Alma, and Cyrus). He is active in his church Resurrection Presbyterian Church, PCA, where he is an elder.
