Welcome To Restoration Landscape Company, LLC
Your lawn is one of the first things people notice about your home when driving by. It’s what your neighbor compares to their own when fetching the morning paper. It’s where children play and enjoy the warm weather. All in all, the appearance and health of your lawn plays a pretty significant role, which is why maintaining a proper lawn care routine is so important.
When it comes to lawn care, one of the most important things homeowners can do is fertilize their lawns. More than just lawn maintenance, fertilization can help improve the look and health of your lawn. In order to grow a lush, green lawn, your grass needs to be well-nourished and healthy, and fertilization essentially provides your lawn with the extra nutrients it needs to thrive.
WHY PROPER LAWN FERTILIZATION IS IMPORTANT
It can be tough to keep your lawn looking as fresh and green as you’d like. The soil in your yard needs food, and most soils don’t have all the required nutrients needed for lawns to flourish. Environmental conditions, insects and pests, inconsistencies in the amount of soil moisture, and diseases can threaten the health of your lawn year-round. Lawn fertilizer will essentially provide the soil in your yard with the extra nutrients it needs to grow thicker, improve the grass’s texture and water-retention properties, and ultimately survive and thrive. Fertilizing helps ensure that your lawn is healthy, lush, and less susceptible to drought, pest damage, and diseases.
While every lawn is different, the lawn care experts at Restoration Landscape Company know that a proper fertilization regimen is a vital component to the overall health and beauty of your lawn. Our lawn fertilization services are tailored to the unique characteristics and properties of your lawn and landscape to achieve the best possible results.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO FERTILIZE YOUR LAWN?
In order for your lawn to look it’s best, it is essential to fertilize it at the right time. Additionally, striking the proper balance is essential for lawn health — too much can leave fertilizer burn, and too little lawn fertilizer can leave a yard prone to weed problems and thin growth. Many people ask us ‘when is the best time to fertilize my lawn?’, but the answer isn’t always a simple one. The best time to fertilize your lawn may vary depending on what grass type you have or what region you live in. Fertilizing your lawn in the spring can help your grass grow quickly and thicker while fertilizing in the summertime is a great way to fight the heat and drought stress that come with the summer season. Lastly, fertilizing your lawn in the fall can provide it with the nutrients it needs to recover from summer and prepare for the winter. Basically, fertilizing your lawn is beneficial almost any time of the year, which is why our lawn fertilization services are formulated to keep your lawn looking pristine year-round.
OUR LAWN FERTILIZATION PROCESS
Keeping up an envy-of-the-neighborhood lawn is an all-year job, and as mentioned, it requires a little more than mowing and a quick watering every once in a while. The trained professionals at Restoration Landscape Company have the expertise to give your lawn the optimal amount of fertilizer to promote a healthy growth cycle and a deep green color. Our lawn fertilization process includes four pre/post-emergent applications with fertilizer, three organic-based fertilizers with minor nutrients, 1 pH-adjusting lime application, one soil sample, and any post-emergent applications as needed.
Done in conjunction with weed control, lawn fertilization is done in eight simple steps.
Our lawn care experts will apply a slow-release fertilizer and a pre/post-emergent that will help kill off any winter weeds in the lawn and prevent the emergence of any new weeds. Fertilizer is added to this application to encourage root growth before the summer heat arrives.
The second stage of lawn fertilization consists of another application of pre/post-emergent weed control, which helps prevent pesky summer weeds, such as crabgrass, from popping up in your lawn.
Once the early summer rolls around, our lawn care experts will apply an organic-based, slow-release fertilizer mixture that will help ensure both deep roots and a beautiful, dense, and green lawn.
Another organic-based fertilizer will be added mid-summer. This fertilizer is specially formulated to help your lawn handle the heat and drought stress of summer. Any existing weeds that have made it past the pre-emergent will be taken care of.
The last application of the summer season is formulated to provide your lawn’s soil with the nutrients it needs to prevent bare or dead spots come early spring. This is a critical stage of lawn fertilization, and proper fertilization will leave you with a green, healthy lawn come spring.
The first round of fall pre-emergent will go out in the early fall and is designed to help prevent weeds that typically sprout in December, such as henbit, chickweed, and other unwanted weeds found in NE Georgia.
The final round of pre-emergent weed control treatment will go out to prevent winter weeds from germinating. This round of fertilization also includes a post-emergent to eliminate any early germinating weeds.
For the final application, we use lime. Lime applications help correct the pH in your soil. Improper pH levels prevent your lawn from using the nutrients that will be applied to your lawn during the growing season.
